I love distressed denim!

Not the split-knee jeans found in the malls—sorry, but I like naturally-worn spots; the kind that come from simply lovin’ your fav’rite  jeans.
So, when I found this great boy’s jacket with “love wear,” and it fit, then I wanted to make it somethin’ special. 😀
I suppdsc_0147-painted-jaket-frontose it would’ve been more correct to use fabric paint, but I already had several colors of craft paint on hand, and if you heat set the garment after you paint it, it can be washed as normal.
Modify the jacket, if ness:
Before I painted it, though, I cut off the cuffs—’cause the sleeves were way too short and the cuffs too small–and made the sleeves  elbow-length, adding the cuffs on the outside of the sleeve end.
Decorate for fun:
Then, I had a ball embellishing my jacket with many bright hues of paint. Wdsc_0148-painted-jaket-bakhen it came to the butterfly on the back, I drew it out on paper first.
To heat set, you can iron the painted areas, or, probably throw it in the dryer on hot. I used an iron.

So, paint a jacket or jeans—or, whatever, and make it your own. Not a single other person will have one like it!! 😀
