Find the Best Deals on Costume Jewelry!

In my experience, the best place to find unique—possibly vintage—costume jewelry at fantastically low prices is flea markets and rummage sales.

Some of these pieces are featured in outfits in My Style Gallery.

These pieces were all bought at Renninger’s Flea Market, Mount Dora, FL. Most of them were from a woman who was selling off her late parents’ left-over inventory from their antiques business. None may be truly antiques (1oo+ years old), but some may be vintage. I would guess that at least two or three of them are from the ’60s/’70s era. She gave me a group rate, which averaged to about $1/ piece! Pretty cool, huh?!

The bargains are out there. Unique costume jewelry may be found very inexpensively if you find a vendor who is eager to get rid of his/her merchandise, as in this case, as she had no interest in her parents’ stuff and was willing to let it go cheaply.

Each piece of the ensemble on the right was purchased at different times and places.

  • The hippie East-Indian ❤ -looking sequin earrings were found at a rummage.
  • The necklace is from a vendor at Renninger’s, Mount Dora.
  • The wonderful brooch may indeed be an antique, or, at least, an old vintage. I found this gem at a booth at Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza. What a find!

The beauty of the Bohemian mode is that the very nature of the style is unconventional. Not only do you not need to have a matching set of jewelry, but, it is actually preferred that you don’t! Really, anything goesas long as it goes. However…that, my dear, is in the eye of the beholder!!
