Today, I wore this outfit. A woman told me, “I love that dress!” Lol!
Little did she know: It’s a skirt!! :-)…………………………………………
Wow!
Who’d a-thunk it!! 🙂
It hit me like a strike o’ lightnin’!
I was looking at Pinterest for ideas. I saw all these cute, full, loose dresses… I almost hit my forehead and said, “I coulda had a V8!” Lol 😀
I had the perfect skirt for this! It was really intended to be a dress with the extra fabric at the top to be wrapped around one’s chest and tied in the back, but I always wore it as a skirt.
So, I just pulled the waist up above my chest and tied it behind my neck! like a halter, making a cowl neck. A stroke of genius! Thanks, Lord!
So, THIS IS A NO-SEW PROJECT…SO EASY!!
Simply add a cute hat, a fun, statement necklace, earrings and bracelets, a peek-a-boo petticoat, and shoes—optional! Lol

Another good re-purpose/ re-fashion idea for a very large skirt, if you’re small, is to cut it in half along the side seams, and remake into two skirts, which will become a 2-piece dress:
- One will have elastic or drawstring at the top for the waist—for the skirt part;
- One you will also draw snug with elastic or drawstring—for the top part of what is becoming a 2-piece dress. And, give it shoulder straps. Mine, I made of wide ribbon.
I used a colorful drawstring, a.k.a long shoestring 😀 .

What a an awesome idea, I have a few skirts in my closet I could re-purpose.
Good for you, Evelyn! I believe in stretching my wardrobe to make as many different outfits as possible from what I have.

You are so creative. I would never have thought of that.i love both these ideas.
Thank you so much, Latha!!
I’ve got just the skirt to try this on.i also find larger skirts, fold over the waistband and sew up with a draw string in it.
Great idea, Eve! Thanks for the tip! I’m sure I’ll use it sometime when i find a skirt I love that’s bigger than I need!
Blessings!
