Hey Boho lovers!
Sundays are my day to really dress up.
It’s becoming easier to create an outfit than it used to be. I used to have to try on a bunch of stuff and have a “bedfull” of clothes and accessories to put away again, when I finally figured out my outfit. Lol.
My Sunday Morning Routine
On a personal note:
First and foremost—which I do every day: As I’m waking up, I say a sleepy “good morning” to God: talking with Him, thanking Him, telling Him how good
He is to us, taking specific concerns to Him, and asking Him to order our day.
I reach over and give my hubby a love pat and tell him I love him. He responds, likewise.
Building My Outfit
1..The Planning:
Before I get up, I consider what I will wear. I visually visit my closet and envision what I have.
In my head, I’m pretty close on
shades and hues of colors, as I mentally put an outfit together.
When I put it on, it usually works, but sometimes, it’s an “uh-uh!!” and I have to go to Plan B. Lol.
2..The first piece:
I’ll start with a particular top or skirt that I want to wear.
This Sunday, I thought I wanted to wear something white, since it’s almost Labor Day.
But, here, in Florida, we really don’t hold to the rule of “nothing white after Labor Day.” Our “summer” continues into the fall—sometimes, through early October.
So, I had a white skirt in mind.
3..The Complementary piece:
Next, I wanted to wear my rose print tunic that I got for a buck last weekend at a church rummage.
4..Tie it all together, with layering—and texture:
“Now,” I asked myself, “how should I tie the two together so it looks like an outfit, rather than just a skirt and top thrown together?”
I thought of that frilly little gossamer, fringy, white thing I got a couple of years ago, that I love using so much! (pictured here)
I bought it at a Rainbow store for $3—marked way
down from its original price, as they were trending into fall.
Sometimes, I wear it under a top, as in these outfits, allowing the lacey, fringy bottom part to show from under a shorter top.

This time, I wore it over my rose tunic.
5..More layering, adding more texture:
To add to the rose theme, I threw on my newest scarf—bought at the church rummage for a dollar. I love it!!
6..Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!!
Accessories are what add your own personality and style, the most, to an outfit.
When I’m all dressed, then come the accessories. I call them “my hardware.” Lol.
They are:
- Many rings.
A few months ago, at the flea market, I got seven sterling silver rings with genuine stones, for $22!! That’s an average of about $3 each—for sterling silver!
- Many bracelets.
I like to wear bangle bracelets on my arms like “arm rings.” My arms are thin, so I
just slip them on and push them up my arms. I wear two to three bracelets on each arm.
- Earrings.
Sometime, I want to have more than one set of piercings in my ears. For now, I wear one set of earrings, but they’re usually dangles.
- Many necklaces.
I like to wear different lengths so that one nestles in another, and that one nestles in another.
- The crowning touch: a hat.
I nearly always wear a hat, now. An outfit just isn’t complete without one!!
- Lastly, I put on my shoes: flat sandals or boots.
When I walked into church, two of my favorite ladies were standing together, talking.
One spotted me and said something to the other. They both turned to me with big smiles on their faces. One called out, “Cute..cute…cute!”
Hi Cindy, this outfit is really cute and you also look cute in this dress. I love when you say blessings in your every post. I myself feels blessed. Thanks for sharing beautiful post.
Hey Gursimrat,
Thank you for your encouragement and compliments. They mean a lot!!
Yes, “G,” I know I am blessed, too. And, when I say “blessings,” I truly, sincerely am asking God to bless the one to whom I am writing.
Blessings to you sweet friend,
Cindy

Girl I love your style…and what a beautiful necklace you wore on Easter can you show us more jewelry and scarves?
Hey Mari,
O…thnx for the input! Well, I don’t make jewelry, and those scarf ideas tapped me pretty much, but I’ll keep it in mind.
I appreciate your comments!
What I’d really LOVE is for you to forget other peoples’ reactions, and just do your thang!! Don’t be intimidated by what others think or say!! Just be yourself! You don’t HAVE to dress in a conventional way! Get out there and “wild yourself up” a little! We don’t have to be like everybody else!! You are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” an individual created to be only you!
Blessings,
Cindy
